We are proud to present “Etna and Alcantara Valley – Your Slow Tourism Adventure in Sicily”, a series of 10 unique itineraries developed through the Med Pearls project funded by ENI CBC Med. The project focuses on Slow Tourism, offering travelers a chance to connect deeply with Sicily’s culture, nature, and people while supporting sustainability and local communities.

Etna: A Journey into Sicily’s Heart

Explore the active volcano that defines Sicily—Mount Etna. Our itineraries take you through its volcanic landscapes, vineyards, and local artisan workshops, offering a deeper connection with the mountain’s culture and history. Visitors will meet winemakers who cultivate grapes in Etna’s fertile soil, and gain insights into the mountain’s powerful role in shaping the region.

Alcantara Valley: Nature’s Masterpiece

The Alcantara Valley is a stunning natural gem, home to the remarkable Alcantara Gorge. Our itineraries offer peaceful hikes through rugged cliffs and volcanic formations, visits to hot springs, and glimpses of the valley’s unique geological and cultural heritage. You’ll connect with nature and history in this quiet, majestic landscape.

Sustainability and Local Collaboration

The itineraries were created in collaboration with local partners, ensuring authentic, immersive experiences that foster meaningful connections with the land and its people. With Med Pearls, we aim to promote sustainable tourism that preserves Sicily’s heritage and supports its communities.

A Visual Journey

To bring these experiences to life, we’ve created a video that showcases the essence of the Slow Tourism itineraries, highlighting the landscapes, culture, and people of Etna and the Alcantara Valley.
